Why Donate Goods?
Your gently used or new items have the ability to turn a house into a home, provide a homeless family with hope and bring a smile to the face of a neglected high school youth.
At NCCF, you can be confident that your clothing, furniture and household goods are making a difference. Our donation store, Dr. C’s Boutique, allows clients from all of our 24 programs throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area to enjoy a shopping experience without spending any money.
If you have any questions, please contact Jermaine Lemons, In-Kind Donations Specialist, on his office phone (301) 365-4480 ext. 109, cell phone (240) 743-7252 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.Contact Jermaine Lemons
NCCF is proud to be participating in Montgomery County’s Homeless Resource Day, a one-day, one-stop opportunity for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness to access services, resources and information. Please help us assemble Care Kits of socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap to hand out! Click here for more information!
Last year, we served 731 clients who required emergency shelter and transitional housing. Oftentimes, families will come to us with nothing but the clothes on their back. If you’re interested in creating a Comfort Bundle to help us welcome new clients to our 30-day shelter, please view the full list here.
Besides the typical clothes, furniture, electronics, we are ALWAYS in need of these items:
- Unopened hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
- Infant supplies (diapers, wipes, powder, lotion, etc.)
- Sheets, pillowcases, mattress pads (no used pillows)
- Blankets, comforters
- Towels, washcloths
- Dishes, silverware, glassware
- Dining tables & chairs
- Bedroom furniture (twin, full, queen only)
- Infant furniture (including cribs-manufactured after 2005, carriages, strollers, high chairs, bassinets)
Taxes and Donations Receipt
Beginning November 6, 2017 when you drop off your goods, you must fill out the donation log with your name, address, e-mail address, and value of the donated items. We will e-mail your receipt within two weeks. We will no longer be giving paper receipts. At the end of the year, you can use the receipt to claim a tax deduction for donated clothing and household items. If you have any questions, please contact Jermaine Lemons, In-Kind Donations Specialist, on his office phone (301) 365-4480 ext. 109, cell phone (240) 743-7252 or email email@example.com.
